Rosa R. Orenstein
Partner
When Rosa Orenstein joined Sullivan & Holston in 2009, she brought to the firm deep experience and a successful record in representing clients in bankruptcy (creditor and debtor), banking, secured transactions and commercial law matters. She has successfully handled workouts and the restructuring of debt outside of bankruptcy on behalf of her clients that range from banks and financial institutions to medical facilities, trucking, retail, printing, medical, and manufacturing companies. Ms. Orenstein's reputation and skilled workout experience during the last 30 years has helped many of her clients arrive at fair and reasonable solutions and avoid going to court.

Ms. Orenstein began her career at Gardere & Wynne in Dallas, where she became the first minority partner in the firm's history. Following her 10 years with the firm, she started her own practice, Orenstein and Associates, P.C. During these 16 years she successfully defended preference claims, conducted several jury trials, and handled appellate matters in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Prior to joining Sullivan & Holston, Ms. Orenstein was with Looper Reed & McGraw.

Born in Cìudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, Ms. Orenstein is active in several professional and civic groups. Her professional memberships include the State Bar of Texas where she is a member of the Continuing Legal Education committee, American Bar Association, Dallas Bar Association and its Bankruptcy section where she was the former chair, and the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association. She also is a Fellow with the Dallas Bar Foundation and a member of the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit and Mexican-American Bar Association.

Ms. Orenstein serves on the Ursuline Academy of Dallas Board of Trustees, the Hispanic 100 where she was the former chair person of the board, and the Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, where she previously served as director and secretary.
